It was a heartwarming morning as Keith Valley Middle School and Blair Mill Elementary welcomed local Veterans for special breakfast celebrations. The students were thrilled to connect with the Veterans and hear their stories of service.
Seeing the interactions between the students and Veterans was truly inspiring. In turn, the Veterans expressed gratitude for spending time with the next generation.
These events provided a meaningful way for our schools to show appreciation for the brave men and women who served and are serving our country. We are so grateful to all the Veterans who attended and made this a memorable experience for our students.

Today we pause to recognize and celebrate the brave men and women who have served in our armed forces. Their courage, sacrifice, and dedication to protecting our freedom are not taken for granted. We thank you for your service.

📣 What an incredible night of basketball entertainment with the Harlem Wizards! 🏀✨
The energy in the gym was absolutely electric as our home team took on these amazing athletes. While our HH team gave it their all, the Wizards dazzled everyone with their incredible skills, tricks, and showmanship!
Special shoutout to HHEF and HHoops for sponsoring this fantastic community event. It brought so much joy to everyone in attendance tonight! Thanks to everyone who came out to support - the packed house and endless cheering made it a night to remember! 🎉

This morning, we kicked off the District's Veterans Day celebrations with a special event at the high school. Students, staff, and local veterans gathered for a breakfast event to honor those who have served our country.
The morning included remarks from several speakers who shared their gratitude and appreciation for our veterans. Students also helped distribute American flags to attendees as a symbol of our nation's pride.
This was just the start of the District's recognition of Veterans Day. On Monday, breakfast events will also be held at Keith Valley and Blair Mill.

Just a reminder, all schools are closed on November 5 (Election Day and Staff Professional Development).

This week was a celebration of culture and community at Crooked Billet and Hallowell!
At Crooked Billet, the 4th grade hosted a fantastic Family Culture Night. Families brought dishes from their cultural backgrounds to share, and it was a wonderful opportunity for students and families to come together, enjoy a meal, and learn from each other’s traditions.
At Hallowell, the 3rd grade held the Break Bread & Bond Cultural Dinner & Write Out event, attracting over 100 families! It was heartwarming to see families engaging in writing poems together, creating an atmosphere filled with creativity and connection.
Both events highlighted the beauty and importance of community bonding.
