Good Morning, Hatboro-Horsham students, faculty, and staff  

Today is Wednesday, October 1st, and it is RED Day. 

  • Today's Latinx fact is about Lin Manuel Miranda. As the creator and original star of Broadway’s Tony-winning musicals Hamilton and In the Heights, Miranda is a groundbreaking composer, playwright, and actor. The Pulitzer Prize, Grammy, Emmy, and Tony Award-winning entertainer continues to be active in his support to increase the representation of people of color. The more you know.... 

  • This week, many in our community will observe Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, which is one of the most important holidays in the Jewish calendar. It is a time for reflection, repentance, and renewal. Yom Kippur begins at sunset and lasts approximately 25 hours, during which many people observe a fast and attend special services. Wishing all of our students, families, and staff a meaningful and peaceful Yom Kippur.  

  • Don’t forget to pre-order your yearbook by October 2nd for a $5.00 discount off the already reduced cost. QR codes to order are posted around the school and on the yearbook's Instagram - so don't wait! 

  • Are you interested in playing Powderpuff football this year? Stop by the library to sign up starting this Friday, October 3rd. Sign-ups go until October 15th! All grade levels are encouraged to play! 

  • We are having a contest for Soc-tober/ Oct-teeth Oct 1 and 30. HH Partnership is teaming up with Mitzvah Circle to collect NEW socks and NEW toothpaste.  The homeroom that collects the most NEW socks and NEW tubes of toothpaste will win a free breakfast provided Dr. Williams.  Late Arrival students can bring items to H218- Mrs. Pruess, and AM Eastern students can bring items to Mrs. Nash in the library. 

  • Courtesy of the Home and School Association, there will be Pretzel sales and Gatorade on sale after the buses leave TODAY. If you are staying after school for a sport or activity, please stop by.  Pretzels and water are $1, and Gatorades are $2.   

 

LUNCH & LEARN: 

  • Today in Line 1 our feature Chef  will have Chicken Mole, cilantro rice, Brazilian Cheese Bites & Sauteed green beans w/carrots. There will also be Soft pretzel Twists and Slushies 

 

IN THE WORLD OF SPORTS: 

  • REMINDER:  Effective immediately, we will not be allowing students to bring their book bags or any other bags into the stadium for our football games moving forward. If you arrive with a bag, you will not be admitted!  

  • Girls tennis had a tough loss yesterday vs. Neshaminy but lots of grit from #2 doubles team Molly O’Connell and Zoe Ruth.  #3 doubles team Taryn O’Donnell and Eleanor Peterson.  #4 doubles team Jirah Lobeban and Kailee Doyle.   Congrats on a great season ladies.  Good luck to our doubles teams competing at the Suburban One League Tournament at PW today.
