Home Health Services of Texas, Inc. Opens Houston Office

HOUSTON – (JAN. 28, 2007) Home Health Services of Texas, Inc., a Plano-based home health care agency, recently opened a Houston office – its first office located outside the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.
"We chose Houston for our first satellite operations, because of the city and its suburbs’ continued growth,” Gerry Dutschke, president and CEO of Home Health Services of Texas, said. “As a healthcare provider, when we were comparing different Texas markets, we had to look at the potential for both our patient customer base and prospective employees, being that the healthcare labor market continues to be highly competitive. We feel that Houston has great potential for Home Health Services to succeed in finding both qualified staff and patients needing our services."
Home Health Services of Texas’ Houston office received its accreditation from the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) in November, which also served as its Medicare survey. The office primarily serves Medicare and TriCare patients, as well as collaborates with pharmacy-based infusion therapy home health care companies to provide nursing services.
The nonprofit agency’s business model is to use the resulting proceeds from serving these funded patients to support the agency’s charitable programs and non-funded home care visits.
The Home Health Services of Texas Houston office is the agency’s seventh branch office, with the remaining six branches spread throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth area and the corporate office located in Plano. The Houston office will initially serve primarily the west and southwest sections of greater Houston, including Katy, Sugarland, Richmond/Rosenberg, Missouri City and Pearland. The agency plans to open a San Antonio office in 2007.
